Crisis and Urgent Response
Crisis and Urgent Response
The Urgent Response Team (URT) offers an additional service designed to deliver quick and adaptable support for clients facing crisis situations. This program emphasizes prevention whenever possible and prioritizes de-escalation when necessary.
What Is A Crisis?
- Instability due to problem behaviors
- Problem behavior that is not responsive to other treatments
- Intermittent support required to cope and/or de-escalate
- A layer of support to prevent movement to a more restricted environment
During an initial call, a safety assessment is conducted, focusing on assessing and de-escalating the situation. The point of contact may include the client, parent, relative, caregiver, or staff. If safety is at risk, a call to 911 may be deemed necessary.
Telephone support is available within 5 to 10 minutes. In-person support may take up to 2 hours to arrive on-site.
Crisis support (“Urgent Response”) is not a substitute for 911. Use 911 if a client is at risk of hurting themselves or others or if they cannot wait for staff (which may take up to 2 hours).
Support is available 24/7, including holidays and weekends.
